Nov. ’94  Exhibition

Small ordinary beginnings brought in the year with trade still suffering from the Recession, but struggling to improve, as we all must do for a while yet, I fear.
The children are a constant comfort and delight as they grow and stretch, green and sap filled, rising to the challenges of school and life. Their innocence was bruised deeply in September when we lost our much loved puppydog, Barney, older than John (12) and Miriam (8). They never knew nor contemplated life without her. Now they must prepare to face a greater loss; Grandma has come to spend her last Christmas with us. We are all determined to make it as happy a time as possible, before a winter storm or spring gale tempts Grandma into a last polka with her handsome soldier who has waited 50 yrs to take her arm again.
Strangers may think it bad form for me to speak of such things here, but regular visitors will know that I try to speak as I paint - the best side of the truth.
